Former Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge has declared that Mo Salah deserves Ballon d’or
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is having a phenomenal season, and his performances warrant consideration for the Ballon d’Or, according to former Reds star Daniel Sturridge.

Salah’s impressive display against Manchester City on Sunday, where he scored one goal and set up another, has taken his tally to 25 goals and 16 assists in 27 Premier League matches this season.
What Sturridge said
Sturridge believes Salah’s consistency and impressive statistics make him a top contender for the prestigious award.
“We’re talking Ballon d’Or now. If we’re not talking Ballon d’Or with Mohamed Salah, then it’s getting out of hand.
“We have to start putting him in that conversation now and saying, ‘I don’t even know if he’s had a top five vote or a top three vote yet,'” Sturridge said.
When asked why Salah has not been in the running for the Ballon d’Or before, Sturridge attributed it to the award’s history of favoring players from La Liga.
“The history of the award, typically it goes to someone in La Liga,” he said.
“He’s having a Messi and Ronaldo season,” said Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports.
Salah’s previous Ballon d’Or rankings include 16th in 2021 and fifth in 2022.
However, if he maintains his current form, he is likely to receive even more recognition in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings.
