Sha’Carri Richardson is a member of an elite league of host committee that includes Chiamanda Adichie, Angel Reese, and Tyla for the 2025 Met Gala.

World 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson landed another milestone with some big names in the sports and entertainment industry after being named as a member of the host committee for the 2025 Met Gala.

The US track queen will be a part of an elite league of host committee made up of André 3000, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Jordan Casteel, Dapper Dan, Doechii, Ayo Edebiri, Edward Enninful, Jeremy O. Harris, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Rashid Johnson, Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee, Audra McDonald, Janelle Monáe, Jeremy Pope, Angel Reese, Tyla, Usher, and Kara Walker.

Richardson is the only track and field athlete on the prestigious list, further strengthening her name as currently the most famous and influential personality in the sport.

What is the Met Gala?

The Met Gala is a charity event and fundraiser for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in Manhattan, and it has traditionally been timed to mark the opening of the department’s annual fashion exhibition. Year after year, the event raises eight-figure sums.

It is popularly regarded as the world’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion event, where fashion stars and models are able to express themselves by their fit according to the theme and social gathering.

The event is known as “fashion’s biggest night”; in which an invitation is highly sought after.
