Applications are now being accepted for the esteemed Royal Society Newton International Fellowships, designed to assist exceptional early-career researchers in establishing independent research careers through international collaboration.

Benefits of Royal Society Newton Fellowship

Selected fellows will receive Two (2) years of funding:

• Covering salary, research expenses, and relocation and visa costs (including dependents)
• Opportunities to collaborate with leading researchers at Oxford Physics.
• Flexibility for personal circumstances, including part-time working options.

Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be based outside the UK and not hold UK citizenship.
• Hold a PhD by the start of the fellowship .
• Have no more than seven years of full-time postdoctoral experience.
• Not have lived, worked, or conducted research in the UK for more than 12 months before the deadline (short visits under three months are excluded).
• For those who completed their PhD in the UK, they must have worked outside the UK for at least one year by the application deadline.

  • CV (noting career breaks and part-time work).
  • List of publications/outputs.
  • One-page research project summary.
  • A statement (max. 200 words) on the benefits of the fellowship to Oxford, the UK, and UK research.
  • Confirmation from your Oxford Physics sponsor.
• Full Proposal: Submit via the Flexi-Grant portal by 18 March 2025 after receiving University approval.

Deadline

• Full Proposal Deadline: 18 March 2025
• Fellowship Start Date: September 2025.
