Sixty three police officers who were recently promoted in Abia State Police Command were, on Tuesday, decorated with new ranks an event presided over by the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa.
The decorations which took place at the Police Officers’ Mess in Umuahia, saw total of 63 officers wearing new ranks
They included 16 promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), 11 officers from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP), and 36 officers from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
In his speech after the decorations, the Commissioner of Police charged the promoted officers to continue to serve with dedication and to represent the image of the Nigeria Police Force honorably.
Drawing from the adage, “to whom much is given, much is required,” CP Isa emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism, integrity, and accountability in their roles.
He further cautioned against incivility towards the public and stressed the need to shun corruption in all forms.
The officers who expressed their gratitude, pledged to remain professional, civil, and diligent in the discharge of their duties.
