Bayer Leverkusen’s director, Simon Rolfes, has revealed that Victor Boniface will not be leaving for Al Nassr.
The announcement follows speculation that he would join the Saudi Arabian team following a medical that was scheduled for this week.
Boniface was on the verge of making a big money move to Saudi Arabia and linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, the move fell through and the striker is expected to remain in Germany for the season.
Victor Boniface’s reported move to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr fell through despite intense rumour.
Boniface has reacted after seeing his billionaire move to Al Nassr fall through at the last minute.
Rolfes give update on Boniface transfer
Rolfes has given an update on Boniface’s failed transfer to Al Nassr, with the club director revealing he will remain there.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Rolfes said, “There have been talks, but we are happy that he will be training with us today. I assume that he will stay.”
The director also added that Boniface’s feelings towards the team remain unaltered and positive.
He continued in his statement, “He feels comfortable here; his attitude towards the club is unchanged.”
His remarks relieve any worries that the Nigerian forward, who has performed well at Leverkusen this season, would be departing the team soon.
He implied that Boniface is content with his current circumstances and is focused on his work at Leverkusen.
Since joining Leverkusen, Boniface has excelled as a player, and other clubs have taken notice of his performances.
Given that Boniface has been a vital member of Leverkusen’s attacking lineup, the team is happy that he will be staying.
