Augustine Eguavoen has given an explanation for his decision to select Sadiq Umar and Kelechi Iheanacho above other Nigerian forwards.
After helping Ajax secure a victory against Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray in the Europa League, Akpom took a moment to address his situation.
“I’ve been waiting since 2019,” he said, visibly emotional. “I switched allegiance a long time ago, but if it happens, it happens; if not, I just keep working hard.”
