Manager Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes were content with the squad’s depth and quality. They believe that the current squad is capable of competing for trophies on all fronts.

Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League and are also competing in the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

The club is also committed to developing young players. Several academy graduates have made their first-team debuts this season and are seen as key players for the future.

Liverpool also have a deal in place to sign Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili in the summer.

The Reds’ decision not to sign any players in January was also influenced by their desire to avoid disrupting the team’s momentum.

The squad is currently performing well and the club did not want to risk upsetting the balance of the team.

As Liverpool’s transfer strategy is focused on the long term, the club plan to make significant investments in the summer window, with several key positions identified as needing strengthening.

What next for Liverpool?

Liverpool will play Tottenham on Thursday in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final, seeking to overturn a first-leg deficit.
