RC Lens midfielder Basit Hamzat Ojediran has once again expressed his strong desire to represent the Super Eagles in the near future.

The 21-year-old has been a key player for the French Ligue 1 side since his move from Albanian club Debreceni VSC last summer. So far, he has made 11 league appearances, contributing one goal and one assist.

Ojediran, who previously played for Nigeria’s U-17 team, is eager to take the next step in his international career. Speaking to SoftFootball.com, the defensive midfielder emphasized his lifelong ambition:

“My dream has always been to play for the Super Eagles,” he said. “I’ve had the honor of representing Nigeria at the U-17 level, and I can’t wait for the chance to do the same for the senior national team.”

The talented midfielder was part of Manu Garba’s Golden Eaglets squad that reached the round of 16 at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil. Interestingly, the newly appointed Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, is no stranger to Ojediran’s club, having played for RC Lens between 2008 and 2011.

Currently, Lens sits in sixth place in the Ligue 1 standings, with Ojediran playing a crucial role in their campaign.
