Victor Osimhen pens message to Super Eagles teammate Victor Boniface after his return to action for Bayer Leverkusen.

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has sent an encouraging message to Super Eagles teammate Victor Boniface after the latter’s return to action for Bayer Leverkusen.

The two players exchanged praise on social media following Osimhen’s appearance in Galatasaray’s win against Gaziantep FK.

Osimhen, on loan from Serie A leaders SSC Napoli till the end of the season, played the entire match as the Lions secured another Super Lig victory.

Boniface commented “highest” on Osimhen’s Instagram post celebrating the win. Osimhen responded, “I like as you come back unannounced! More to come, make them dey play”.

Boniface recently made his comeback after a hamstring injury sustained during international duty with Nigeria late last year.

He returned for Bayer Leverkusen in their 3-1 victory over Hoffenheim and followed that up with a decisive goal against Koln in the DFB Pokal clash.

In December 2024, Osimhen also sent birthday wishes to Boniface, writing on Instagram, “Birthday blessings starboy!!! Only love and well wishes over here man!!! See you soon!!!”.

Osimhen had previously also offered support to Boniface during a goal drought for Nigeria, assuring him that the goals would come.

In response to the support, Boniface has also jokingly teased Osimhen on social media about purported luxury purchases, a playful exchange that has become a norm for both players.

Meanwhile, in a related development, the 26-year-old Osimhen has been recorded sharing his love for Nigerian food.

As reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, Super Eagles ace Victor Osimhen is a proud Nigerian after promoting the country’s culture, music and even cuisine at any chance.

He was asked to name his favourite Nigerian dish, and he not only named Amala, the yam flour dish famous amongst Yorubas in South West Nigeria, but he also put forward a strong argument for it.
