Mobi Oparaku, a former Nigerian international, has called for unity in the Super Eagles ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will resume in March. Nigeria will face Rwanda in Kigali and then host Zimbabwe in Uyo, with both matches crucial for their qualification hopes.
In an interview with Brila FM, Oparaku emphasized the need for the team to come together as one. He stressed that individual performances should not be the focus; instead, the players must represent Nigeria as a united front.
“When they take the field next month, it should be as a collective team, not as individual players,” he said.
Oparaku pointed out that there’s a stark difference between representing the country as a team and as individuals. He expressed hope that the Super Eagles’ new manager, Eric Sekou Chelle, would be able to unite the squad and inspire them to play like a cohesive unit.
