Sichuan University China 2025 Outstanding Student Scholarship

Sichuan University (SCU) has officially opened applications for the Outstanding Student Scholarship 2025, an initiative designed to attract high-achieving international students to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at one of China’s top-ranked universities.

Scholarship Benefits

The Outstanding Student Scholarship 2025 provides financial assistance in two categories: the full scholarship, which covers tuition fees, living expenses (including accommodation subsidy), and medical insurance.

Whereas, the partial scholarship, which offers up to RMB 20,000 per year to help cover tuition and living costs. Undergraduate students can receive a partial scholarship for up to four (04) years, while master’s and doctoral students are eligible for a full scholarship for a maximum of three and four years, respectively. Scholarship recipients must meet academic performance requirements to renew their funding annually.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health and meet the age criteria: undergraduates must be under 22 years old, master’s applicants under 30, and doctoral applicants under 35.

Additionally, applicants must not be receiving other scholarships from the Chinese government or domestic institutions. Those who were previously Chinese citizens and have acquired foreign nationality must comply with the Chinese Ministry of Education regulations.

Available Programs

Sichuan University  offers a diverse range of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. Notably, the following English-taught undergraduate programs are available:

• International Business Management – Focuses on global business leadership, finance, and organizational strategies.
• Software Engineering – Provides expertise in IT innovation, software development, and entrepreneurship.
• Tourism Management – Includes partnerships with global hotel chains such as Ritz-Carlton and Marriott, offering excellent internship opportunities.
• Civil Engineering – Covers core engineering knowledge, design, and construction management for careers in infrastructure development.

Application Process & Deadline

Interested applicants must submit their applications online via the SCU international student portal https://scu.17gz.org/member/login.do. The list of required application documents include a passport copy, academic transcripts, personal statement, recommendation letters, and language proficiency certificates (HSK for Chinese-taught programs, TOEFL/IELTS for English-taught programs).

The application deadline for this Outstanding student scholarship at Sichuan university is May 30, 2025, with enrollment set for September 2025.
