1.) Monitoring & Evaluation Adviser (National Volunteer Nigeria)
Location: Lagos

Role Overview Summary
- The role supports the ACTIVE project in Nigeria by leading Monitoring and Evaluating activities, including data validation, DQA, capacity building, and supervisory visits to strengthen data management.
- Reporting to the state programme manager, the adviser will monitor program activities, collaborate with project teams, and work with stakeholders to ensure accountability and learning.
Requirements
Ideal Applicant Summary:
- A candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international development, statistics, or related fields (Master’s preferred) and proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, ideally within the development or non-profit sectors.
- The ideal candidate will have experience with data management, statistical software, and data visualization tools.A commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous learning is key.

Additional Information:
- This is a national volunteer position open to nationals of Nigeria only as we are unable to provide sponsorship for this position.
Allowance and accommodation
- All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency.
- The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.
- VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.

Application Process
Step 1:
- When you have completed the form, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to our VSO Values self-assessment.
- This is a module designed to give you an insight into VSO’s ethos and provide you with an understanding of how your values align with ours, helping you to decide if you would like to join our organisation. The self-assessment module typically takes about 10 minutes to complete.
Step 2:
- After completing the VSO Values self-assessment, you can opt out or proceed with the application process.
- You will need to upload your CV in Word or PDF format detailing your employment and educational history, and any volunteering experience.
- Please note that you will need to complete the full application form in one go as you cannot save it to fill at a later time.
Step 3:
- When you have submitted your application, you will receive an email inviting you to complete two assessments which focus on how you process information and what your work approach is.
- You will be shown instructions and example questions prior to the assessments to help you increase your familiarity with them.
- You will also have access to a short profile report on completion of the assessment.
- Your application will be reviewed by our Resourcing Team when you have completed these assessments.

2.) Solid Waste Management Adviser (National Volunteer)
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Volunteer
Job Summary
- The Solid Waste Management Adviser will support the ACTIVE Project in Nigeria and will be responsible for the project coordination and supervision of activities on site with a special focus on monitoring of the waste separation at source.
- He/she will coordinate the activities of the project partners and stakeholders involved and ensure that work plans and agreed targets are met in a timely manner while complying with cost limits.
Requirements
- The ideal role holder should possess a bachelor’s degree in fields related to, environment, solid waste management, solid waste treatment with at least 5 years’ experiencein solid waste management and treatment.
- He/she should have provenexperiencein planning and implementation of Government and NGO’s projects and a goodunderstanding ofwaste management and issues related to solid waste, plastic, conservation, climate change, and communication for change
- This is a national volunteer position open to nationals of Nigeria only as we are unable to provide sponsorship for this position.
- All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency.
