Russia on Friday said it did not damage Ukraine’s containment shelter at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant overnight.

The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, who stated this, added that he has precise information on the alleged incident, stressing that Russia does not attack nuclear infrastructure.

“The Russian military doesn’t do that. They don’t. This is most likely just another provocation. That’s exactly what the Kyiv regime likes to do and sometimes, in fact, does not shy away from doing,” he said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and the UN’s nuclear energy watchdog both said that radiation levels remained normal after the incident.

This is coming as top US, Ukrainian and European officials converged at the Munich Security Conference to discuss the war in Ukraine.
