Harry Kane has confirmed he will undergo a scan after being substituted at halftime in Bayern Munich’s Champions League clash against Celtic.

The tense play-off match seemed destined for extra time when Nicolas Kuhn put Celtic ahead, leveling the tie at 2-2.

Despite fears that the Scottish side would struggle against the Bundesliga giants, they created the better chances and pushed Bayern to the limit.

Just as it seemed Celtic might force penalties, Alphonso Davies struck deep into stoppage time, securing a 3-2 aggregate victory for Bayern and breaking the visitors’ resistance.

Although Bayern hold a commanding eight-point lead in the Bundesliga under Vincent Kompany, their performance lacked fluency, with Kane’s early exit raising concerns.

The England captain, who was already an injury doubt before the match, was seen limping after the game. Speaking about his condition, Kane admitted: “We’ll have a scan tonight and then we’ll see. I’m not sure if I can play against Frankfurt on Sunday.”

Kompany also addressed the situation, explaining the decision to take off Kane at halftime.

“It was a quick turnaround for Harry. He gave us the thumbs-up this morning, and we trusted his judgment, but during the game, he felt he couldn’t contribute fully, and we didn’t want to risk further injury,” Kompany said.

The Bayern boss acknowledged the team’s fatigue, attributing their sluggish display to a packed schedule.

“We’ve played a lot of games recently, and that’s taken a toll. We fought hard in Leverkusen and Celtic Park in the past week. Now, we can recover and move forward,” he added.

On the other side, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expressed immense pride in his team’s performance, despite their heartbreaking exit.

“I’m incredibly proud of the players,” Rodgers said. “We played with courage, created chances, and matched one of the tournament favorites in their own stadium. The late goal was cruel, but we showed what we’re capable of.”

Although Celtic fell just short, their fearless display in Munich earned them plenty of admiration, while Bayern now await Kane’s test results ahead of their next challenge.
