Leave them alone — Guardiola warns Jude Bellingham ahead of UCL second leg

Report: Real Madrid consider leaving LaLiga after Bellingham red card

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has advised Jude Bellingham to leave referees alone ahead of their Champions League meeting at the Bernabeu.

Bellingham’s sending-off against Osasuna on Saturday has sparked a heated debate, with Madrid claiming that the England midfielder’s words were mistranslated.

“But what’s important is the intention, not the insult. The best thing is not to do it and leave the referees in peace.”

Manchester City are trailing 3-2 from the first leg after they blew a lead twice, and anything other than a win will see the 2023 champions knocked out.

However, after the 4-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend, there is confidence among the City support that a comeback is possible.
