Marc Guehi’s future is a hot topic as several top clubs eye a move for the Crystal Palace defender. With his contract set to expire next summer, he is expected to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season.

Football pundit Tony Cascarino believes Guehi’s next club will be pivotal for his career. While he is capable of playing in a back four, he thrives best in a back three, which offers him more defensive security.

Manchester United, now under the influence of INEOS and linked with Ruben Amorim as their next manager, are being urged to consider Guehi. His defensive qualities and versatility could be a solution to their issues at the back.

A Long-Standing United Target

United have had long-term interest in Guehi and previously monitored his availability. With Lisandro Martínez and Luke Shaw frequently injured, the club has often lacked a reliable left-sided centre-back.

Guehi has already proven his ability to handle the demands of the Premier League. He played a key role in Crystal Palace’s recent run of five consecutive away wins, including a 2-0 victory over United.

Both Newcastle and Tottenham have attempted to sign the defender, with bids of £65m and £70m rejected in the past year. Chelsea, who sold him for £18m in 2021, are also considering re-signing him.

The Right Time for a Move?

With interest from multiple clubs, this summer might be the best time for Guehi and Palace to part ways. Cascarino believes the Eagles could secure around £50m for the England international.

As Guehi aims to be part of England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, his contract situation needs to be settled soon. A major tournament distraction is something he must avoid.

Palace, despite their strong away form, remain in 13th place due to struggles at home. They face Aston Villa next, but all eyes will be on Guehi’s future as top clubs prepare their offers.
