Governor of Kyiv region in Ukraine, Mykola Kalashnyk, on Wednesday said an overnight Russian drone attack on the region injured a 19-year-old woman and set a residential house on fire.
Kalashnyk revealed this in a post on the Telegram messaging app saying, “She was hospitalized with an injury to her head.”
He also posted photos of firefighters battling large flames at night in what appeared to be a residential building.
Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko on Telegram said the city was under air attack.
According to Ukraine’s air force data, Kyiv, the region surrounding it and the eastern half of Ukraine were under air raid alerts starting at around 2000 GMT.
Russia has not yet commented on the development.
Meanwhile, both sides deny targeting civilians in the war, which Russia launched three years ago on its smaller neighbour and which has since killed thousands, the vast majority of them Ukrainian.
