Speaking in an interview with Fulham Fix Podcast Episode 32, he said, “We played in Baku, it was so far to get there, it was a long journey.
“I thought I was going to start but Unai Emery said no, we are going to go with this team. I was a bit disappointed, but I just said if I get the opportunity to come on, I have to prove why I should have started.
“Unfortunately we lost to Chelsea but I was able to get the goal which obviously is one of my best memories in my career. You never know what’s written in the stars but I was pleased to get a goal.”
Iwobi left Arsenal for Everton, where he spent four seasons before making a move to Fulham and becoming an important member of the team.
He has helped Fulham in the English Premier League, with seven goals and three assists in 26 Premier League games this season.
