The ongoing ITTF Africa Cup in Tunis has seen the continent’s top table tennis players book their tickets to the 2025 ITTF World Cup.

The tournament has reached its semifinal stage, with the winners securing their spots in the prestigious global event.
Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna and Fatimo Bello also secured their spots in the World Cup. Aruna defeated Cote d’Ivoire’s Oba Oba Kizito 4-0, while Bello won 4-1 against Tunisia’s Ela Saidi.

Aruna will begin his title defense at the 2025 ITTF Africa Cup in Tunisia on Tuesday.
Egypt dominated the quarterfinals, with Hana Goda, Omar Assar, Dina Meshref, and Mariam Alhodaby all advancing to the semifinals.
Goda was the first to secure her spot, defeating Tunisia’s Maram Zoghlami 4-1.

Assar, a five-time Africa Cup champion, faced a tough challenge from Algeria’s Mehdi Bouloussa but emerged victorious 4-2.

Ahead of the 2025 ITTF Africa Cup, defending champions Quadri Aruna and Egypt’s Dina Meshref are listed among the top stars registered.
Alhodaby added the third ticket for Egypt with a commanding 4-0 win over Algeria’s Lynda Logrhaibi.
Benin Republic’s Abdel-Kader Salifou picked up his maiden ITTF World Cup ticket after beating Egypt’s Mohamed El-Beiali 4-1.
Cameroon’s Ylane Batix also secured his first World Cup ticket, defeating Madagascar’s Antoine Razafinarivo 4-2.
Hana Goda dethroned her compatriot Dina Meshref to win the women’s singles title.
The semifinal pairings have been set, with Aruna facing Batix and Assar taking on Salifou in the men’s singles.
In the women’s singles, Goda will battle Bello, while Meshref will face Alhodaby.
The winners of the semifinals will advance to the finals, where they will compete for the Africa Cup title and a chance to represent the continent at the 2025 ITTF World Cup.
