Manchester United legend, Roy Keane has hit out at captain, Bruno Fernandes over his performances for the club so far this season.
Keane labelled Fernandes as ‘imposter’, adding that the Portugal international is saving Man United, who sit in 14th position on the Premier League table.
Man United are arguably enduring their worst-ever Premier League season.
Ruben Amorim’s side currently sit in 14th place on the log with 33 points from 27 league matches.
The Red Devils have lost 12 games in the Premier League so far this season.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Overlap, Keane aimed a dig at Fernandes.
“They drew at Everton and it’s like they won the cup. It’s bizarre. I see the fans at matches and they are singing for Bruno, these boys are imposters,” Keane said.
However, Arsenal legend Ian Wright disagreed with Keane and commented: “No, not Bruno.”
But the Irishman responded, “Wrighty, I have had enough of that rubbish. Watch the game with him, watch him against Leicester in the FA Cup, watch them against Everton, people pretending to close people down.”
Wright then defended Fernandes, saying, “Who is bringing you guys back into the game? It’s not Bruno [who is the problem] Roy, when we are talking about someone who can save you, it’s Bruno.”
Keane disagreed: “Save us? We are [14th] in the league. He’s saving them? Praise the Lord.”
Man United’s next game is against Fulham in the FA Cup on Sunday.
