Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to his residence in Kaduna State after spending nearly two years in his home town, Daura, Katsina State.

DAILY POST reports that since the former president vacated Aso Rock in May 2023, he has been in Daura having a quiet life.

Buhari’s former aide, Bashir Ahmad, who confirmed the return to Kaduna in a post on his official Facebook page, said his former boss stayed out of active political discussions while in Daura, focusing only on private engagements.

Buhari was accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima and high-profile dignitaries, including the Governor of Borno, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, and his Kaduna counterpart, Governor Uba Sani.

Also current and former Deputy Governors of Katsina State, a former Inspector General of Police, former ministers, and several of his personal aides accompanied the former Nigerian leader to Kaduna on Thursday.

DAILY POST recalls that the former president had revealed that he rented out one of his two houses in Kaduna State.
