The Supreme Court has reserved judgment on the appeals related to the ongoing crisis within the Rivers State House of Assembly.
There are five appeals before the apex court concerning the dispute in the State Assembly.
After hearing the appeals regarding the defection of lawmakers led by Martins Amaewhule, the Supreme Court decided to reserve judgment, with the date to be communicated to the parties involved.
Among the issues being contested is the legality of Amaewhule’s position as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, following his alleged defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, alongside 26 other members of the Assembly.
