REVEALED: The Break-Up drama between Israel Adesanya and Powdrell

Adesanya’s high-profile relationship with Charlotte Powdrell first made headlines in 2019 when they were spotted together following Izzy’s victory against Robert Whittaker. 

However, the romance quietly ended the following year for undisclosed reasons.

In May 2023, Pulse Sports reported that Adesanya took to social media to call out his former partner, accusing her of demanding half of his net worth — despite not being married or having children together.

At the time of the publication, Achraf Hakimi and Hiba Abouk’s viral divorce saga triggered the UFC star who rarely posts about his personal life, to react on social media via a series of trolls aimed at his ex-girlfriend.

Izzy posted a viral clip about Hakimi’s divorce on his Instagram story with a caption that read: 

“Very relatable….Imagine being so f****n entitled that you think you deserve what a man has worked his whole life for. When you came in to his life with nothing and tried to leave with Million$. But I like Achraf Hakimi, my assets are protected. I woulda taken half her sh** to. But I don’t want half of NOTHING.

“Mentally drain me..hahaha!!, you are pathetic. Even worse than when you said ‘well you’re gonna have to break up with me then.’ so you can be a victim just the way you like it……show this to you lawyer too,” Adesanya wrote in a series of fiery posts.

The former UFC Middleweight Champion with an estimated net worth of $4 million as per Celerity Net Worth, also hinted that Powdrell had betrayed him by leaking information about him to the public.

“You don’t care about my life coz you sold info about me, so I don’t care about yours. I don’t even hate you, I just don’t care about you.”

Fast forward to 2025, an X (formerly Twitter) post alleged that Adesanya took his ex to court and ended up walking away with $500,000 of her money — flipping the tables entirely. 

The post further claimed that Adesanya’s net worth is $0.00 and that he had never owned a bank account.

However, Pulse Sports can confirm that these claims are entirely false. 

The matter between Adesanya and Powdrell never escalated to the courtroom, and no such financial settlement took place.

It was also confirmed by UFC star Sean O’Malley in a video posted on his official YouTube channel in April 2023, that Adesanya gave his ex-girlfriend Charlotte Powdrell the sum $1,000 when they broke up and not a penny more.

The only thing Adesanya confirmed via his now-deleted screenshots, was a tenancy agreement between he and his former girlfriend which he had encouraged her to sign at the time.

Asides that, no court hearing took place over a compensation after their romance ended.

Charlotte Powdrell, who continues to thrive in her real estate career in Auckland, has since moved on from her relationship with the UFC star.

While the internet loves a juicy scandal, this viral rumour appears to be nothing more than misinformation designed to grab headlines.

Make no mistake, Adesanya remains one of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts, while Powdrell is carving out her own success away from the spotlight.
