Are you a high-achieving graduate from Kano State seeking support to pursue a higher degree? The Kano State Government invites applications for the second batch of the 1,001 Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for the 2024/2025 academic session.
This initiative, championed by the administration of His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, aims to empower talented graduates with advanced education opportunities.
The scholarship programme was revived in 2023, with the first batch launched in October of the same year. During this phase, 550 students were sponsored for Master’s programmes in specialised fields at universities in India and Uganda. The government continues this legacy by opening applications for the second batch of this life-changing opportunity.
Requirements for Kano State Government Postgraduate Scholarships
- Be a recognised indigene of Kano State.
- Hold a First-Class Honours Degree or equivalent from a reputable university or institution.
- Be aged 30 years or younger for four-to-five-year degree holders or 35 years or younger for degrees exceeding five years.
- Demonstrate good health through a valid medical fitness certificate.
- Be prepared to attend a physical screening interview.
- Have completed the NYSC programme or possess a valid exemption or exclusion certificate.
- Not currently benefit from any other scholarship or full sponsorship programme.
- Submit a personal statement of approximately 500 words.
- Agree to the terms and conditions of the scholarship if awarded.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with disabilities and those pursuing programmes that address gaps in state services, provided they meet the above requirements.
