A concerned Nigerian football administrator, Tobi Adepoju, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to take immediate action to secure Arsenal’s rising star Ethan Nwaneri for the Super Eagles.
Adepoju, director of Ikorodu City and a renowned photojournalist made the call on social media following Nwaneri’s impressive display in Arsenal’s historic 7-1 Champions League win over PSV Eindhoven.

“When are we storming Emirates?” he quizzed on X. “We need to stop England from capping Ethan Nwaneri. He’s our boy, he’s an Eagle and not a Lion.”

Adepoju also expressed his nostalgia for former NFF chief Amaju Pinnick, suggesting that Pinnick would have likely taken proactive steps to secure Nwaneri’s allegiance:

The urgency in Adepoju’s message highlights the importance of securing Nwaneri’s commitment to Nigeria before England makes a move, emphasising the need for the NFF to act swiftly to ensure the young talent represents the Super Eagles in the future.
In what sis essentially a breakthrough campaign for the winger, Nwaneri has scored eight goals and provided one assist in 27 matches across competitions for the Gunners this season.
