The 27-year-old shot-stopper, who had previously been dropped due to a string of errors, was handed a chance to redeem himself against Leicester. However, his performance left much to be desired, with Mikel openly questioning his decision-making.
Speaking after the game, the former Super Eagles star said, “There was a mistake from Robert Sanchez again, which luckily didn’t end up in [a] goal, but what was he doing? I don’t get it.”

The former Nigerian captain particularly took issue with Sanchez’s positioning on a cross, arguing that Chelsea’s central defenders could have dealt with the situation without their goalkeeper’s interference.
