The MOE Scholarship Exchange Program 2025, hosted by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU), is a remarkable initiative designed for young professionals and university graduates from Central and Eastern Europe.

This scholarship empowers recipients to undertake a 6 to 12-month research or internship residency in Germany, focusing on practical environmental protection solutions.

Benefits of the MOE Scholarship

1.) Generous Financial Support
Recipients receive a monthly stipend of €1,060, which is tax-free and excludes social security deductions. Additional benefits include health, accident, and liability insurance.

2.) Pre-Scholarship German Language Course
Scholarship holders are provided with support for a German  language course to enhance their communication skills before the program begins.

3.) Tailored Internships in Germany
DBU arranges internships with German universities, research institutes, companies, ministries, or environmental organizations, aligning with the candidate’s interests and expertise.

4.) Networking and Alumni Engagement

• Participation in seminars and events like the DBU Summer Academy and the German Environmental Prize ceremony.
• Access to an extensive alumni network across Central and Eastern Europe, fostering cross-border environmental collaboration.

5.) Comprehensive Mentorship
Professional supervision throughout the program ensures robust academic and practical growth.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the MOE Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be recent university graduates (Master’s, Magister, or Diploma degree holders) with above-average academic results.
• Have completed their degree within the last three years.
• Hold citizenship and permanent residence in one of the eligible Central or Eastern European countries, such as Poland, Hungary, Romania, or Albania.
• Demonstrate German language proficiency (minimum B1 level), to be certified by the start of the program.
• Present a compelling project proposal that contributes significantly to environmental or nature conservation.

Note:

• PhD students cannot complete their doctoral studies during the scholarship.
• Applicants already residing in Germany for academic or professional reasons are ineligible.

• Resume (CV).
• Detailed project proposal (3 pages).
• Copies of academic transcripts with translations.
• A recommendation letter from a university advisor in German or English.
• Proof of German language proficiency, if available.
