22-year-old woman brutally murdered five weeks after her wedding in Jigawa
A 22-year-old woman, Zainab Ibrahim, was brutally murdered by unknown assailants five weeks after her wedding in Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The incident happened on March 12, 2025 at about 1420hrs in Warware Quarters.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Shi’isu Adam, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday, March 13, said Zainab was found unconscious in her matrimonial home with her throat slit.
“A newly married woman, Zainab Ibrahim, 22, was found unconscious in a pool of her blood at her matrimonial home in Warware Quarters, Hadejia LGA,” the statement read.
“The Hadejia Divisional Police Officer led a team to the scene, where they found a deep cut on her throat.
“Zainab was rushed to General Hospital Hadejia, where she was pronounced dead.”
The PPRO stated that the police have begun an investigation and are working to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous act.
