Former Nigeria international Celestine Babayaro has backed Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman to join Chelsea, insisting the duo would make an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge.
Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray from Napoli, is expected to leave the Italian club permanently at the end of the season. The 26-year-old striker has been heavily linked with several European giants, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Lookman has been one of the standout performers for Atalanta in Serie A. The winger was close to joining Paris Saint-Germain last summer, but Atalanta are now willing to let him leave for around €60 million when the transfer window opens

Speaking to AfricaFoot, Babayaro expressed confidence that both players would thrive at Chelsea. According to him, Osimhen’s goal-scoring prowess and Lookman’s creativity would perfectly fit the team’s style of play and help the club challenge for major trophies.
“Lookman and Osimhen would fit in perfectly at Chelsea,” Babayaro said. “It’s obvious they would have an immediate impact there if signed. Look, we’re talking about two of the best strikers in Europe right now. African players have always excelled at Chelsea, and these two would be no different.”
Babayaro also suggested that Chelsea could consider including current striker Nicolas Jackson in a potential deal for Osimhen. “They would form the core of the club and make the team instant contenders. They’re also a good buy because they each have one year left on their contracts. In one of the deals, probably Osimhen’s, they could trade Jackson, which I think would be a smart move,” he added.

With Chelsea struggling for consistency this season, the addition of Osimhen’s physicality and Lookman’s versatility could provide the much-needed attacking boost for new manager Mauricio Pochettino. Both players have been in top form for their respective clubs and could help the Blues return to the top of English football.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will make a move for the Nigerian duo, but Babayaro’s comments reflect the growing belief that Osimhen and Lookman have what it takes to succeed in the Premier League.
