Police arraign female-led  syndicate in court


The Kano State Police Command has achieved notable advancements in combating crime by arresting and charging a theft syndicate led by women.

The group, headed by Shamsiyya Adamu, was arrested along with four additional members and taken to Chief Magistrates Court 18 in Gyadi Gyadi, Kano. The individuals are charged with conspiracy, trespassing, and theft.

A statement issued by Kano State Police Public Relation Officer SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa on Tuesday further express that, In a later operation, four more suspects—Fati Auwal, Kamal Sale, Usman Nasir, and Bashir Ibrahim—were apprehended for theft and possession of stolen goods.

A total of 12 mobile devices were seized from the suspects, and inquiries into the case are continuing.

He said they have obtained 86 reports from victims, highlighting the extensive influence of the syndicate’s operations.

The Commissioner of Police for Kano State, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has ordered that the pursuit of recovering stolen phones persist, and he conveyed appreciation for the support of law-abiding citizens in assisting the police’s inquiry.

This operation is a component of the Kano State Police Command’s continuous initiatives to uphold safety and security in the area.
