Shooting Stars’ technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, and goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal have won the Coach and Player of the Month awards for December.
Ogunbote edged the trio of Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars, Greg Ikhenoba of Bendel Insurance, and Finidi George of Rivers United to win the manager’s award.
Lawal overcame stiff opposition from teammates Desmond Ojietefian and Ikouwem Utim, as well as the duo of Remo Stars’ Ibrahim Shuaib and Chijioke Alaekwe of Akwa United, to win the player’s award.
Ogunbote led Shooting Stars to five wins from five matches in the month.
Lawal recorded five clean sheets in the month.
