Emmanuel Adebayor was not impressed with one thing from Arsenal’s win against Tottenham in the London Derby.

Former Arsenal and Tottenham striker, Emmanuel Adebayor, has delivered a critical assessment of his former club following their narrow 2-1 victory over Spurs in the North London Derby.

The match at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night was Arsenal’s first win since the start of the year, a much-needed result as they aim to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool.

Arsenal’s performance was characterised by a shaky start, with Tottenham taking the lead in the 25th minute through a deflected strike from Son Heung-min.

However, the Gunners responded just before halftime, equalising with a header from Gabriel Magalhaes forcing an own goal from Dominic Solanke following a corner kick.

Leandro Trossard then put Arsenal ahead just two minutes later with a powerful shot that left Spurs’ goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky with no chance.

Despite dominating possession and creating several scoring opportunities in the second half, Arsenal struggled to extend their lead and had to endure a tense finish as Tottenham pressed for an equaliser.

Ultimately, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners managed to hold on for the win, moving them closer to Liverpool in the title race.

Adebayor, who played for the Gunners for three years between 2006 to 2009, provided analysis for Supersport during the match and was unimpressed with Arsenal’s finishing.

He stated, “These types of games, the most important thing is to take three points,” he stated.

“For Arsenal now to think about winning the league, the way they played today is good, but they had so many chances that they couldn’t take, and that’s the big problem when you’re thinking about the league.”

His comments highlight concerns about Arsenal’s ability to convert opportunities into goals as they pursue their title ambitions, just a few days after they suffered a similar fate against Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Nevertheless, the victory not only boosts Arsenal’s confidence but also extends their unbeaten run against Tottenham in league matches to eight games.

Up next for the title contenders is another home clash against Aston Villa, Mikel Arteta’s side will need to address their finishing woes if they hope to maintain their title challenge.
