Messi won the FIFA World Cup in December 2022 with Argentina, which has placed him ahead of Ronaldo in the debate of who the greatest football player of all time is.

Ronaldo has played in five FIFA World Cups and scored a total of eight goals in 22 matches but has yet to lift the trophy.

Neymar names favourite to win 2026 FIFA World Cup

Neymar has selected France, Argentina, and Spain as his top three favourites to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The former Barcelona star in a podcast with Ginga Bonito stated that Argentina is very confident and in pole position to win the World Cup.

He said, “3 countries that can win the World Cup excluding Brazil? I think France, Spain & Argentina because Argentina are very confident. I think those are the 3 teams at the top. There’s also England, Germany, they’re there.”

Neymar and Messi played at Barcelona from 2013 to 2017, where they formed a formidable attacking trio with Luis Suarez. 

They have also reunited at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from 2017 to 2021. As of now, discussions about them possibly playing together again, such as in Miami, have emerged but remain speculative.
