Former Fenerbahce midfielder praised Osimhen for his contribution to Galatasaray.

Former Turkey international Ilker Yagcioglu was effusive in his praise for Victor Osimhen, stating that the Nigerian’s tremendous impact on Napoli transcends his impressive number. 

The 26-year-old has been sensational in his season-long loan for the Cim-Bom so far. He has 19 goals or assists in 17 games for Okan Buruk’s side, leading their charge in the Super Lig and Europa League.

While he acknowledges Osimhen’s immense quality, the striker’s cheery attitude impresses the former Fenerbahce midfielder more. 

Yagcioglu is both impressed and amazed at the speed with which the former Lille man has developed bonds with his teammates and fans, and he believes that the morale-boosting effect of that trait is as impressive as the goals Osimhen scores.  

“Osimhen’s contribution to Galatasaray is very high; don’t evaluate it only based on goals,” Yagcioglu said, per GsGazete.

“Look at Osimhen doing somersaults on the ground after Yunus’ goal. He celebrates like a child. I am really surprised how he felt such a sense of belonging in such a short time. It is really strange but it is a good thing for Galatasaray.

“He has also established a bond with his fans. This guy may go on loan or go to another team next year, but he likes this place.”

The Nigerian star displayed his loyalty to Galatasaray recently when he reportedly rejected an approach from Manchester United, despite having previously expressed his ambitions of playing in the Premier League.
