Nottingham Forest have established clear conditions for Taiwo Awoniyi’s possible departure to West Ham this January.

Awoniyi has been the subject of transfer speculation since the opening of the January transfer window after losing his starting spot in the team.

The 27-year-old has dropped down the pecking order in Forest’s attack, losing his starting berth to striker Chris Wood.

Despite his poor run of form, the Super Eagles star has been linked with a move to West Ham.

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has discussed Taiwo Awoniyi’s possible exit to West Ham this January.

According to reports, Nottingham Forest have set one condition for Super Eagles star’s departure this January.

West Ham United are trying to sign Awoniyi after Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio were sidelined for the upcoming season due to injury.

However, the Hammers have a significant obstacle in their quest to sign the Super Eagles striker.

According to West Ham supporters, Nottingham Forest have informed West Ham that they will only consider a straight buy for Awoniyi or a loan with a buyout clause for around £30 million.

West Ham are reluctant to spend a lot of money on a player with Awoniyi’s injury history and goal-scoring ability.

The forward has started just two of his 16 Premier League games this season and he has only managed one goal.

He has mostly been the backup striker since Nuno Espirito Santo took over as coach in December 2023.
