What Maresca said
Maresca’s comments come amidst growing frustration with several decisions that have gone against Chelsea. He cited a challenge on Pedro Neto in the draw against Crystal Palace as an example where the referee failed to award a penalty.
He also highlighted a controversial incident in the Bournemouth draw where David Brooks was only booked for an off-the-ball challenge on Marc Cucurella.

“Two or three games ago I remember they didn’t whistle for a penalty and then we got a mail apologising, that it should have been a penalty. But we don’t need apologies,” said the Chelsea boss.
Despite criticism of Neto and Cucurella for “going down easily”, Maresca defended his players.
“No, not at all. The other day for me against Bournemouth it was a red card. We are not going to change a thing,” he continued.
“So the club, us, we are not embarrassed about this. Someone has to be embarrassed about this kind of thing but not us. I love my players, all of them.”
