2025 University of Kent British Council GREAT Scholarship

The University of Kent, in collaboration with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, has announced the prestigious GREAT Scholarships 2025 for students from China, France, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, and Turkey.

This program provides talented individuals the opportunity to pursue one-year taught postgraduate degrees at the University of Kent’s UK campuses while promoting cultural and academic exchange.

Scholarship Value

The GREAT Scholarship  provides £10,000 towards one year of tuition fees for eligible candidates. Seven scholarships are available, making this a highly competitive and sought-after opportunity.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a citizen and resident of one of the following countries: China, France, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, or Turkey, and classified as an overseas fee payer.
• Hold a conditional offer for a full-time, 12-month taught postgraduate course at the University of Kent’s UK campuses and accept the offer before the application deadline.
• Begin their course in September 2025.
• Demonstrate an active interest in their field of study through work experience or proven engagement.
• Commit to embodying the UK Higher Education experience by participating in both academic and extracurricular activities.
• Represent the GREAT brand and act as an advocate for UK education.
• Attend a networking event with other GREAT scholars.

Note

• Distance learning, two-year courses (including those with a Year in Industry), and PCert or PDip programs are not eligible.
• This scholarship cannot be combined with any other funding.

Application Process

• Eligibility: Ensure you meet all eligibility requirements and have received a conditional offer from the University of Kent.
• Portal Access: Apply for the scholarship through your applicant portal.
• Essay Submission: Submit an essay of no more than 500 words discussing a topic you’ve studied and its relevance to your chosen degree program. This essay should highlight your motivation and interest in your field.

Application Deadline
