Record Breaker: Super Falcons star returns from maternity break to join Ottawa Rapids

'I am now a mother' - Super Falcons star Ngozi Okobi welcomes new Baby

Super Falcons midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene has taken a maternity break to sign with the Ottawa Rapids of Canada.

Okobi, who stayed away from football, became a mother after giving birth to her first child four months ago.

In September, the former Delta Queens star shared a heartwarming social media post of herself holding her newborn to announce the arrival of her child.

The pictures come after she proudly showed off her growing baby bulge during an earlier pregnancy reveal.

Okobi joins Canadian team

The club’s technical director praised the signing of the 31-year-old, who joins the Canadian top-flight team ahead of its first Northern Super League (NSL) season.

The Super Falcons star posted on her X account, “New home, new journey. 💪🏼 let’s go samba 😘.”

According to Canadian Soccer Daily, she said, “Ngozi Sonia Okobi-Okeoghene is a dynamic, offensively minded player with a wealth of experience at the highest levels of the game.

“Her strong 1 vs. 1 attacking abilities make her a constant threat on the ball, and her sharp decision-making ensures she’s always creating dangerous opportunities for her team.”
