Benjamin Šeško, RB Leipzig’s 21-year-old striker, has made it clear that Arsenal is his preferred destination over Chelsea and Manchester United. Despite ongoing Premier League interest, a January transfer appears unlikely as Leipzig are unwilling to sell mid-season.

Šeško, who scored 18 goals last season and already boasts 14 this campaign, has been linked to the Premier League for months.

Arsenal, in need of a forward due to injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, view Šeško as a top target.

The Slovenian international reportedly favors a move to the Gunners, choosing them over Chelsea and Manchester United during summer negotiations.

However, Leipzig’s refusal to sell and the lack of a release clause in his contract mean a January deal would require an extraordinary offer.

TalkSPORT confirms Arsenal remain interested but suggests a summer transfer is more realistic.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, acknowledged the club’s search for reinforcements:
“We’ve lost key players like Saka and Jesus. We need someone who can make an impact upfront, but it must be the right player for the team,” Arteta explained during a press conference.

While Arsenal explore options, Šeško is likely to stay in the Bundesliga until the season ends.
