A mouthwatering clash that’s about revenge or continued dominance, Trayvon Bromell and Noah Lyles reignite rivalry at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix.
After two years of not racing each other, American track stars Noah Lyles and Trayvon Bromell are finally scheduled to rekindle their 60m rivalry at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on February, 2nd.
The renowned meet birth their indoor rivalry in 2023 after Lyles triumphed in a then-Personal Best (PB) of 6.51s to hold off the former world indoor champion by a faster reaction time of 0.002s.

Following his victory, the Paris Olympic 100m champion posted on his Instagram page “It’s my house now”, which didn’t sit well with Bromell and he responded by saying: “He said “this his house”?….Bet!”
In his next race, the two-time world championship bronze medallist ran a blistering 6.42s (sixth fastest time in history) at the Tiger Paw Invitational, which closed off as the joint fastest time in the world that year.
With their rivalry already established, Lyles stormed to an outstanding PB of 6.44s to win the 2024 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, edging Jamaican speedster Ackeem Blake in 6.45s and former world indoor bronze medallist Ronnie Baker in 6.54s.

With Trayvon Bromell announcing his return for the indoor season next year, perhaps it’s the end of Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman in the men’s 60m event?
Shortly after the race, he posted a picture of the New Balance THE TRACK multi-purpose facility and called it MY HOUSE – a reference to being unbeaten at the stadium and his rivalry with Bromell.
Lyles will go to win the US Indoor Championships in a new PB of 6.43s, while an injury-plagued season hampered Bromell any chances of revenge or impact during the season.
This year, both marked their season’s debut on winning notes, clocking identical times of 6.62s in their respective meets.

With the 2025 edition set to rekindle their rivalry, Lyles will be gunning for his fourth consecutive title at the meet, while Bromell will aim to end it and finally get his revenge.
The men’s 60m event at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix is highly anticipated to be mouthwatering, having other top contenders in 2022 world indoor champion Marcell Jacobs, Bahamian specialist Terrence Jones, British record holder Zharnel Hughes, and Nigerian sensation Udodi Onwuzurike in the mix capable of challenging for the title.
