Paris Olympics medllist Femke Bol made a surprising announcement on her indoor season.
For the first time in her career, Dutch track queen Femke Bol will not be competing indoors, as her team have decided to only focus on the outdoor season.
In a post released on her Instagram page, the world indoor 400m record holder made it known she has to focus on other priorities, and will only compete in the relays at the European Indoor Championships in her home country.

Femke Bol is the world indoor record holder in the women’s 400m event
“After the last olympic cycle with years full of amazing competitions indoor and outdoors, we’ve decided to do it a bit different this year. I’m training hard and preparing myself for another successful year on the track, but I also felt that I needed a bit more time away from competing. Therefore I have decided to not race individually this indoor season,” penned the Paris Olympics 400mH bronze medallist.
“It gives me the opportunity to have some more time processing everything that has happened and prioritize more things outside of the sports that are important to me.

With rumours of their romantic relationship intensified, lovebirds Sha’Carri Richardson and Christian Coleman served couple goals on their way to training.
“However, I cannot and do not want to miss a chance to compete at a home championship!!! So I will be racing in Apeldoorn at the European Indoor Championships in the relays and lucky enough it’s the first time there’s also a mixed relay!
“I am looking forward to what this year will bring me and I want to thank you all for the support ❤️ See you in Apeldoorn!,” she concluded.
Bol set the world indoor 400m record of 49.17s to win the gold medal at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow last year.
She is a two-time world champion, four-time Olympic medallist and the European 400mH record holder with the second-fastest time in history of 50.95s.
