Adamawa police arrest man for phone snatching, stabbing victim

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested a suspect, Usman Abubakar of Shuware Ward, Mubi North LGA, for allegedly attacking and robbing a resident of her mobile phone.

In a statement on Monday, police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed that the suspect was apprehended on Sunday, February 23, following a complaint from the victim, Hadiza Atiku of Wuro Harde Ward, Mubi North LGA.

According to the statement, Hadiza was attacked near Jambas Hotel, Mubi, where the suspect allegedly blocked her path, stabbed her with scissors, and snatched her Infinix WOD 9 handset.

Upon receiving the report, operatives from the Mubi North Divisional Police Headquarters acted swiftly, leading to the suspect’s arrest. The police recovered the stolen handset, a pair of scissors, and a tricycle used in the crime.

“The suspect is currently in custody and assisting with the investigation,” Nguroje added.
