After a relatively quiet opening 10 minutes, Nottingham Forest took the lead after Lewis Dunk put through his own goal to make it 1-0 to the hosts.
Two quick-fire goals, both assisted by Anthony Elanga, soon followed as Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood soon followed to give Nottingham Forest a 3-0 lead going into half-time.
After the break, Nottingham Forest kept their boots on their opponents’ necks, scoring four more goals to seal a historic Premier League result.
Wood completed his hat-trick with two more goals before the 70-minute mark, to give the Tricky Trees a commanding 5-0 lead going into the match’s final minutes.
Two further goals from Neco Williams and Jota Silva helped Nottingham Forest complete the seven-goal rout of Brighton. The win put Nottingham Forest on the same points as Arsenal and helped them record their largest league win since beating Chelsea in 1991.
