The first leg in Paris was far from comfortable for Liverpool. Despite coming away with a crucial away win, they were largely outplayed by a PSG side that dominated possession and created more chances.

PSG thought they had taken the lead in the first half, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside. The French giants piled on the pressure, but Liverpool’s defensive resilience kept them in the game.

Then came the moment of magic. Harvey Elliott’s late strike stunned the home crowd, securing a hard-fought victory for Arne Slot’s men.

Liverpool held on and now head to Anfield with a slim advantage, but that is exactly why Sagna is not convinced they will make it through.

Sagna predicts Liverpool’s downfall

Speaking to talkSPORT, former Arsenal and France defender Bacary Sagna explained why he expects PSG to turn things around in the second leg.

The former Auxerre star said, “I believe Paris have a good chance at going through to the Champions League stage so then the vibe will be down.”

“At the minute Liverpool is flying because of the results that they are having, but you never know.”

While Liverpool will have the Anfield crowd behind them, PSG will be desperate to make up for their missed chances in the first leg.

With the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia leading the attack, they remain a serious threat to Liverpool’s Champions League dreams.
