Ronaldo and Nadal’s business venture has reportedly suffered a setback.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafael Nadal’s upscale Italian restaurant, Toto, has reportedly shut down for good, just three years after its grand opening in Madrid.

The high-profile eatery, which launched in March 2022, was expected to be a long-term venture backed by some of the biggest names in sports.

 However, in a surprising turn of events, Toto has now ceased operations permanently, leaving many wondering if it was simply a bad investment.

The restaurant was part of the prestigious Tatel Group, co-founded by Nadal, with other sports legends like Ronaldo and Spanish basketball icons Rudy Fernandez and Pau Gasol as partners. 

Known for its signature dish, Vera Carbonara de Toto, the restaurant had initially promised an authentic Italian culinary experience in the heart of Madrid.

However, despite its celebrity backing, the venture has come to an abrupt end.

According to El Español and also reported by The Mirror, while Toto has shut down, the group’s sister restaurants in Dubai and Abu Dhabi continue to operate, at least for now.

Another business setback for Ronaldo?

For Ronaldo, Toto was another addition to his already impressive business empire.

 The football icon, who has built a reputation for success both on and off the pitch, has expanded into various industries, including fashion, fitness, and even hair transplants.

 His CR7 brand currently worth an estimated $884.3 million, spans clothing, fragrance, hotels, and gyms, while his digital presence includes a record-breaking YouTube channel.

Not one to let setbacks define him, Ronaldo has made it clear that his ambitions extend far beyond football. S

Despite this latest business disappointment, Ronaldo remains focused on his playing career.

 At 40, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner continues to dominate for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League and remains a key figure for the Portugal national team. 

Ronaldo will return to action on Friday, March 14, against Al-Kholood, proving that, while his restaurant venture may have failed, his football career is far from over.
