Barcelona have been told how much they have to pay to sign their summer transfer target.
Rayo Vallecano have reacted to Barcelona’s interest in their right back Andrei Ratiu, referring the Blaugrana to the defender’s release clause.

Barcelona’s interest
As Pulse Sports reported, the Blaugrana identified the Romanian defender as an ideal option in defence, as they are keen on bolstering their full-back options next season.
The 26-year-old joined Rayo Vallecano in the summer of 2023 from another Spanish side, Huesca, and has been an integral member of the team that has steadily punched above their weight throughout their current stint in LALIGA.
According to a report from Spanish publication El Nacional, Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, is a fan of Ratiu and is preparing a summer move for the defender.

Rayo’s response
Ratiu has a release clause of €25 million, but Barcelona are hoping to negotiate a lesser fee. However, according to a statement from the club’s sporting director, David Cobeno, that would not fly, as they would insist on the full release clause.
“Andrei is a 50/50 player of ours; if someone wants to ask us about him, we can talk, but we will ask for the clause,” he said, per Football Espana.
“It’s his first season in the elite on a continuous basis and we want him to stay with us. He is a fundamental pillar so that next year the team can continue to grow in La Liga.”
As Cobeno said, Rayo Vallecano only own half the player’s rights, as Villarreal retained 50% when they sold him. They are only eligible to keep €12.5 million of the release clause, hence their disinterest in negotiating a lesser fee.
