The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described the letter on budget representation written by Governor Simi Fubara to the Rivers State House of Assembly as ‘useless.’.

Wike, who was the immediate past governor of Rivers State, spoke during a media chat on Wednesday.

This is coming after Rivers Assembly Speaker Martin Amaewhule gave the governor a 48-hour ultimatum to represent the 2025 budget.

Amaewhule’s ultimatum came after the Supreme Court, in a judgement delivered by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, ordered the 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to resume functions immediately.

Reacting to the development, Wike said that Fubara is not sincere with his pursuit of peace in Rivers State.

According to him, Fubara needs to create a good relationship with the state legislature instead of playing to the gallery.

“Letter to the Rivers House of Assembly is useless; he’s playing to the gallery,” Wike said.
