According to Mikel, Didier Drogba, the legendary Chelsea striker, was instrumental in Scolari’s downfall due to his dissatisfaction with the manager’s team selections.

Mikel, speaking on Stadium Astro, recalled how life under Scolari started promisingly but took a turn for the worse when Drogba began to express his discontent.

The Nigerian midfielder revealed that Drogba was unhappy with Scolari’s preference for Nicolas Anelka over him, leading to a rift between the player and the manager.

“When you have such a big ego, a big player, the number one guy, and all of a sudden, he’s not playing. He’s walking around the training ground, sulking, not happy, walking around grumpy, it wraps around everybody,” Mikel explained.
