A current Chelsea man’s ordeal has been compared to one former Champions League-winning Blues player.
The exile of Ben Chilwell from Chelsea’s first team has been compared to Florent Malouda’s.
The erstwhile Blues winger Malouda previously spoke out about the club’s harsh treatment of players who fall out of favour.

What Malouda said
Malouda was frozen out of the first team in 2013 and was not allowed to train with his teammates.

Speaking over a decade ago, the Frenchman stated his belief that the club deliberately tried to “destroy him mentally” in order to force him to leave.
“The details I’ll explain when I’m free. But the strategy they use is to make me look like a player seeking substantial compensation,” said Malouda to Mail Online (via France-Guyane). “If you are excluded for one year, it is very, very long.
“You must be armed mentally. All this is done to break me mentally, but in reality, it motivates me enormously.”
Malouda’s experience is similar to what Ben Chilwell is currently going through at Chelsea.
The left full-back has been exiled from the first team and has not played a single minute of Premier League football this season.
What next for Chilwell and Chelsea?
Chilwell has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace before the close of the winter transfer window, with the Eagles considering a loan deal for the 2021 Champions League winner.
