A Niger Delta activist and President, Nigeria Youth Organisation, Comrade Dr. Duke Alamboye, has called on youths in the region to emulate the peaceful nature of Late Pa Edwin Clark.

DAILY POST Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF leader, Edwin Clark, died last week at the age of 97.

The former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South leader’s death was confirmed in a statement by a representative of the family, Prof. C. C. Clark, on Tuesday.

DAILY POST met Alamboye at the home of the late PANDEF leader while he was on a condolence visit to the family.

Reacting to the passing of the elder statesman, he said, “First of all, we give God the glory. The Almighty God is the giver of life, and he takes it when due.

“For us, we feel that it’s a celebration of life. He clocked 90 plus, and is someone who had led the Niger Delta struggle.

“He is someone who has led the Nigerian content struggle. So many areas of development, he has involved himself, but basically for the Niger Delta, he has been a frontline fighter.

“He has been our advocate for development. There are no developmental strides that have occurred in the Niger Delta that you will not call Pa Edwin Clark.

“Clark was a mentor, father, and grandfather. We thank God for the life He gave to him as much as we as human beings, we are missing him, but I think God knows best. He has taken him at the right time, so his exit is a celebration.

“We are very, very happy that God gave us somebody like that for us to have, and he played his role as humanity required.”
